The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow (WCDH) will present our September Poetluck at 515 Spring Street on Thursday, September 19th, at 6:00 pm featuring author Zeek Taylor.

WCDH is proud to bring Zeek Taylor to WCDH for our September Poetluck. A long-time supporter and patron of WCDH, Zeek Taylor is a recipient of the Arkansas Governor’s Arts Award for Lifetime Achievement, and he is a recipient of the Idle Class Magazine’s “Black Apple Legacy Award.” Best known for his stylized visual art, he is also a storyteller and an author. He has appeared on the National Public Radio show Tales from the South. He was a special guest on the show’s “Tin Roof” series, and his story and interview were heard by 130 million listeners worldwide. Zeek gave a Tedx talk in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was interviewed by StoryCorps and a segment of the interview aired on NPR’s Morning Edition show where it reached 50 million listeners. The complete interview is on file in the Library of Congress. Zeek is the author of four books. One is an art book Chimps Having Fun that features his paintings. His most recent book Out of the Delta, the Anthology, is a memoir published by Sandy Springs Press. Zeek Taylor lives and works in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

We are delighted to invite you to attend Poetluck, an open mic style poetry reading event at The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow (WCDH). Poetluck provides a supportive and inclusive space for writers to share their work and connect with fellow literary enthusiasts in the community. We welcome writers of all genres and experience levels to join us and share their poems, stories, and essays with our audience. The evening starts with a potluck meal at 6:00 PM, bring a dish to share or not, there is always enough. The open mic style readings start at 6:30 PM.

“ Zeek Taylor is an Arkansas treasure, his stories of his youth reflect a forgotten time in the south” stated Nancy Paddock WCDH Workshop Coordinator.
